On March 1, 2025, the 33rd East China Import and Export Fair (ECIEF) grandly opened at the China Financial Information Center.
As China's premier foreign trade event, ECIEF 2025 will run from March 1 to 4 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, focusing on textile, apparel, and light industry sectors to deepen opening-up and cooperation while showcasing the vitality of China's foreign trade transformation and achievements in high-quality development.
I. The structure of exhibiting enterprises is optimized, and a large number of innovative achievements emerge intensively.
Covering 10 exhibition halls, the total number of exhibition booths exceeds 5,100, attracting 3,250 domestic and overseas enterprises to participate in the exhibition.

The exhibits cover cutting-edge fields such as smart home, green materials, and professional clothing. The cross-border integration and technological innovation have become the highlights.

Meanwhile, to encourage innovation, 44 enterprises were awarded the "Product Innovation Award of the East China Import and Export Fair" at the opening ceremony in the morning.
These award-winning enterprises cover new fields such as smart home and green materials, demonstrating the vigorous momentum of China's foreign trade, which is characterized by continuous innovation and resilient progress.

In addition, this year's East China Import and Export Fair will continue to set up an overseas exhibition area in Hall W5. The exhibition area of this overseas zone is 11,500 square meters, with a total of 450 booths.
It is divided into exhibition areas for countries and regions such as Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Pakistan, and Nepal. It has attracted 364 enterprises from 13 countries and regions to participate in the exhibition.

II. The Scale of Purchasers Has Steadily Increased, with Purchasers from Emerging Markets Accounting for Over Half.
On the first day of the exhibition, two matching meetings were held, namely the Europe and America Special Session and the Garment and Apparel Special Session. The matching area was bustling with people.
The Garment and Apparel Special Session attracted a large number of purchasers to stop and negotiate. Among them, purchasers from countries along the Belt and Road Initiative and Southeast Asian regions accounted for more than half.
The procurement matching meeting has become an important window to respond to the dividends of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and deepen the coordination of the industrial chains between China and ASEAN.

In addition, this year's exhibition launched online interaction at an early stage. Relying on social media matrices at home and abroad such as the official website, TikTok, and WeChat Channels, a series of short videos titled "Straight to the East China Import and Export Fair — Dialogue with Industry Pioneers" were intensively released before the exhibition, precisely reaching the target purchasing groups.
